You may not be aware of just how important improving your small business reputation is. Here are some simple hacks which you can action today to help work towards a stellar business reputation.
1. Leave a positive review on your client’s Google My Business account
This method of improving your small business reputation is straight forward – your client’s love getting positive feedback, so why not sing their praises, and let them know how great it’s been working with them? You don’t have to be a client of theirs to let their potential clients know just how wonderful of an experience you’ve had with them.
2. Look at all the touch points you have with your client, and see which could be improved
There’s nothing worse than engaging with a new business via their beautiful, streamlined website, only to turn up to a face-to-face meeting in someone’s garage with their 10 cats. Your small business reputation involves every point at which your client encounters your business. Even the sticky situations like if someone has a negative experience – plan how you’re still going to leave them feeling great. Or perhaps you could automate your emails so that a new client isn’t left wondering if you received their email or not.

3. Turn off superfluous notifications
There’s nothing worse than a business hounding you daily about some new change to their staffing. If it doesn’t directly affect your client, then turn the notification off. Same thing with bill notifications – even though you’re keen for someone to pay their bills, only start hounding them after they’re overdue, not before. Sometimes improving your small business reputation is about less, not more.
4. Plan a positive first 3 experiences for a new client
If your client has 3 positive experiences with you, where you’ve gone out of your way for them, then you will have a loyal client for life. Not only this, but that person will have had such a great experience that they will recommend you to all their mates. Not able to do this with every single one of your clients? Why not pick out the extroverted ones who are more likely to have large circles of friends, or ones who value loyalty above all else – who will stay loyal to your brand no matter what.
